the year that was…

2010 started with a wonderful promise:
“The Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest,” — Joshua 1:9
I went places… I did things… I lived life and He, true to His promise was with me every single moment!
2010’s life changing + utterly useless moments
Jumped into a new job | slept through numerous bus rides to get there everyday
Started blogging actively | became a social recluse and a virtual butterfly
Played tourist during the sister’s visit |went to much-hated Sentosa
Attempted weight loss | lost faith in diets + exercising
Learned how to swim | unable to float
Spent spooky nights without the boy | left the lights on
Missed the mother heaps | also desperately missed McDonald’s McVeggie burger
Missed friends’ weddings | forgot to send anniversary greetings
Learned to pick my battles | became stronger
Missed my friends from home | made new ones in Singapore
Did not write any letters | typed in a few emo characters
Shopped alone for Christmas presents |confession: loved it
Bought a bag for the boy, who for a change didn’t ask if it could be exchanged
Found a note from the boy the day he went overseas for work | cried myself to sleep
Developed a dangerously sweet tooth | lost one as well
Called home like crazy | bought myself a fancy phone
Performed on a stage | learned through melodrama at work
Followed FIFA World Cup 2010 | Attended the Youth Olympic Games 2010
Attempted to learn a new language | was lost in translation
Fretted | laughed | cried | hugged | sang | danced |screamed | shouted | cursed |panicked |dreamed | loved | hated
The year 2010 was a football game in action – every emotion and more! Here’s to an even more amazing 2011…
